The NFC East had a BAD week! Not a win for any of the teams. Who said we had the best division? First, the Eagles were embarrassed by Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks on Thursday night. During the off-season, after the lockout, I looked in amazement at the team the Eagles were putting together. And I thought to myself, this team will beat ANYBODY! Man, was I wrong. The Eagles are a bad team that can’t stop anyone. Instead of teams fearing them, they come thinking that they can do anything they want to the Eagles: run, pass, anything they want. Andy Reid has done a lot for Philly, but he needs to go. It’s time!
The Skins’ season went from bad to worse. They not only lost their 8th game of the season, but apparently they lost two key pieces to their offense for the rest of the year. Their most productive offensive weapon, TE Fred Davis, and their key O Lineman, Trent Williams will be suspended for 4 games for drug policy violations. It’s a shame to see this happen for any team. As for the game, the Skins made Shonn Green look like a perennial Pro Bowler. But, they also did the same thing for their own Roy Helu. This guy is really good. They really should use him more. (Kyle, are you listening?) Continue reading

Another disappointing Thanksgiving in Detroit. 8 straight losses for the LIons on Turkey Day. The thing is, this year was supposed to be different. A 7-3 start and in playoff position, the Lions were expected to challenge the Green Bay Packers and give the defending Super Bowl Champions a stiff challenge. Alas it was not to be.
The Packers bested the Lions 27-15 to run their record to 11-0 and retain total control of the NFC North. The Lions showed they’re not ready for the big time yet by committing numerous dumb penalties and making poor decisions. The worst being DT Ndamukong Suh being ejected in the third quarter after stomping on Packers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith.
Suh claimed in the post game news conference that he was stepping away from Dietrich-Smith and did not intentionally stomp on him. I don’t believe him. I love Ndamukong Suh but he needs to learn to control his emotions. His lack of discipline is hurting the Lions. Suh should be suspended for his actions and don’t be surprised if the league punishes him for this. Continue reading

“ALL MY ‘SHE SAID’ GIRLS, LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS! WAVE ‘EM AT THE FELLAS HATING ON YOU WITH THEIR FRIENDS!”
Let me start with the GREAT news: In the He SAID She Said Fantasy Football League Match up of the Week the guys took another L. This week’s match up was between my girl (and Dallas Cowboys fan) STAR STUDDED and the man of his blog (also a Dallas Cowboys fan) DNasty. Friday night DNasty saw STAR STUDDED in person and was talking King Kong size trash. Taunting her about her bye week players, asking her how she know about the Waiver Wire…just awful! He was very confident. And well fellas…he choked! Let me tell you: The ROOKIE, STAR STUDDED, handled her biz against your league commish DNasty. Proud of you lady! Even happier that the fellas took another L!
We all heard about the death of iconic NFL owner: Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis. It’s only fitting that as HUGE fans of the NFL that we show respect for a man who left a huge mark on the game. While we personally did not agree with many of his decisions (and we weren’t the only ones), we certainly love the fact that Al Davis was brazen enough to walk to the beat of his own drum. As African-Americans, it’s also great to see what he contributed to the game in terms of diversity. Here’s to you Al Davis for bringing mystique and BOLDNESS to the NFL, along with that vertical passing game. This quote of Al Davis really sums up his belief in the vertical passing game: “When we came out of the huddle, we didn’t want first downs and move the chains. We wanted touchdowns-the quick strike. We were going to take what we wanted and that was Raider’s Football” Raiders Football was Al Davis. R.I.P. Continue reading
We had SO much fun Monday night, that this week we decided we wanted to go where the people are again! A couple years ago, we watched a Monday night football game at BlackFinn when the New Orleans Saints played the Atlanta Falcons. (the year the Saints wind up winning beating Atlanta and winning the Super Bowl later). We had such a great time that we decided to go back!
We were NOT disappointed! If you know about me, you know I love talking trash and being around proud fans of their team. While I went primarily to check out my Redskins (and the official ESPN 980 post game show was being taped there), there were fans for just about every 1 o clock game on! Steelers, Texans, Cowboys, Philly, 49ers…and of course Redskins fans! Everyone was cheering (or jeering) at different games. They had the sports bar MUST HAVES: lots of huge tvs, lots of beer options, and delicious food! Check it out:
