I think we can all agree the holiday season is a busy time of year for all of us! Well in addition to the holiday hoopla (shopping, parties, etc) we both joined some friends in a fitness challenge. Our fitness group (Having Fitness Is The New Sexy), started on December 5th. It challenges everyone to not wait for the New Year (again) to take their health and fitness seriously. Due to the decline of the college football season, we decided to walk a half marathon in DC prior to heading out to watch the Dallas Cowboys vs Tampa Bay Bucs Saturday Night.
Let me tell you: Walking briskly for 3.5 hours in 40 degree weather is not a game! We did get to see some amazing sights. Washington, DC is one amazing city! The highlight of our walk was checking out the new Martin Luther King Jr Memorial (which we made it to after 1.5 miles of walking.
Once we thawed out (I promise I was frozen), we headed to one of our local favorite spots in DC (Asia Nine) to watch the Saturday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Bucs. I’m sure you can guess that while D was rooting on his Cowboys, I was rooting for Coach Morris to do his thang! The problem was, another Morris actually came to play: Sammie Morris! This game was really over before it started.
The Sunday games were full of 1st times! The Colts won their first game of the season. The Packers lost their first game of the season. Chad OchoCinco caught his first TD of the season! For the first time (in forever it seems) Chad did not perform a prepared TD celebration. My Redskins swept the New York Giants (for the first time since 1999).
During THE 4pm game (Patriots vs Broncos) and between Stattracker updates, we helped my nephews bake Christmas cookies! We even had them cheering for Tebow! LOL Especially that first TD he scored. We were all going wild. But Tom Terrific certainly brought us along with the rest of the NFL back down to reality! When it was all said and done, the Patriots put up a 40 burger on the Broncos (just as Kurt Warner boldly predicted on NFL Game Day that morning)!
