She Said: Take Care of “The Girls”

My very best girlfriend (of almost 20 years!) and I have many things in common.  We both LOVE football.  Taking after her mom, she is a HUGE fan of the Dallas Cowboys.  I remember going to her moms house for Super Bowl parties (WAY back in the day) and thinking “The Redskins will be back”  HA!  While we are never on the page for love of football teams, we both share another passion: Breast Cancer Awareness!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an international campaign promoted and supported by a variety of charities, organizations, and companies.  The purpose of this initiative is to bring awareness to the disease, promote early detection to save lives, and finally to raise funds for research and the future possibility of a cure.  Continue reading

LADIES VS FELLAS WEEK 3!

I’m very sad to say that this league is starting to be She Said Fantasy Football League. The Men lost another head to head match up and our record is now 1-2 against the Ladies (Shout out to Domin8 Trix). We are being outscored by the Women 1571 to 1505 and we are tied in overall win loss record at 6-6. We have TWO teams in the He Said Division that have yet to win a game, but I won’t mention them by name but they know who they are. I’ve been singing this same song for THREE WEEKS now: WE gotta do better, the Ladies are killing us! Continue reading

DA-DA-DA-DAAAAA! What a Monday Night It Was…

We watched our favorite teams (The Dallas Cowboys for me and The Washington Redskins for her) go for it on Monday Night Football this week.  Our venue of choice was the Penn Quarter Sports Tavern.   The main reason this venue got my vote was because there were LARGE, CRYSTAL CLEAR HIGH DEFINITION TELEVISIONS wall to wall everywhere!  The menu has your typical sports bar food (burgers, pizza, wings) and the prices were great.  Especially the half off wings after 7pm!  We had a few friends show up and we took over the best spot in the house:  the second floor right against the wall where you could see about  8 TVs lined up on the opposite wall!   Talk about the perfect venue!  Continue reading

The Underdogs are stomping with the BIG DOGS…Week 3

HE SAID She Said FOOTBALL Week 3

Week 3 is THE week for HE SAID She Said FOOTBALL!  The only thing…our game (Redskins vs Cowboys) is Monday night!  As a result, we stayed in and ordered pizza.  There were 2 great games on Fox that we got to watch (along with Stattracker for the HSSS Fantasy Football League).

1pm:  An anticipated show down of our division rivals: The Eagles vs The Giants.  I fully expected the GMEN to lose, but hoped they would win.  Well WIN they did!  As banged up as the Giants are, they came to play, especially that Victor Cruz!  He had some BIG TIME plays yesterday that made the Eagles Defense look as overrated as I thought they would be.  HA!  Cruz danced all through the end zone.  A great replacement for Manningham.  On another note, I do not think Michael Vick was ready to play.  He looked off all day and now to add another injury-his hand is broken.  Andy Reid should have prepped Kafka all week to ensure he was ready…for that terrible performance, Andy Reid could have gotten Vince Young’s impersonator to come in and play…. The First Day of Fall Football Saturdays

I know exactly what you are thinking: who is THAT kid?  Well #40 is my bestie’s son and today was his team’s Homecoming.  He plays for the Spirit of Faith Warriors.  Watching a kid like Amon play is really exciting.  He captures the essence of football for me.  At his young age, he has a passion for the game.  In fact, the boy suits up and runs plays in his room.  He is able to have competent sports talk with adults at the age of 11.  He reads sports articles and watches ESPN, but he is also a scholar at school with EXCELLENT grades.  I’m very proud of him! LADIES VS FELLAS WEEK 2

Ladies, ladies, LADIES! We took care of business AGAIN! For the 2nd week in a row, the ladies have locked down the top two slots in the league. Shout out to Domin8 Trix for keeping her #1 status! For the 2nd week in a row she has scored the most overall points (this week with 161). Holding it down and close behind at #2 is Girl Behaving Badly with a convincing win in the…

HE SAID She SaidFantasy Football Match Up of the Week: Girl Behaving Badly took it to Team Bring It (who I noticed has since picked up MY Washington Redskin Defense on waivers). Looks like Jahvid did his BEST along with the rest of the Detriot Lions this weekend in that Kansas City game! Congratulations to Girl Behaving Badly for serving Team Bring It his second loss of the season!

Fellas!! We should be embarrassed!!!!! Not only are the WOMEN tied with us in overall records at 5-5, but they are outscoring the MEN 1138-1009!! AND, we let them even the score in head to head competition. I will give props to Girl Behaving Badly for handling her business, but I gotta call out Team Bring It: Bruh, how you gonna leave Steven Jackson in your lineup?!?!?!?!!!!!! EVERYBODY knew he wasn’t gonna play. Fellas we gotta do better! These Ladies are serious and they are coming to play every week. We have another chance this upcoming week with Ballers Unorthodoks taking on Domin8 Trix. Ballers, you gotta bring what Team Bring It couldn’t bring against GBB this past weekend. Now Ballers, I know you are feeling the sting of losing to me, AND watching your Niners get done up by my ‘Boys, but you need to MAN UP!! Shout out to Domin8 Trix. You are doing your thing! But you will eventually go down. The MEN will PREVAIL!! Continue reading
